ACADEMIC SERVICES

College Admission Essay:

Getting into the college or the graduate program of his or her choice is extremely important to a person. No matter how smart the person, no matter how well they can write, almost everyone needs help editing their college admission essay.

Editing a college admission essay is a truly collaborative process. I work hand-in-hand with the person, no matter how many hours are needed to produce an essay that fully satisfies both the client and myself.

Doctoral Dissertation:

I wrote a very well-received qualitative doctoral dissertation at UCLA, and am experienced editing qualitative dissertations. I will always discuss with you the expectations of your committee, and any special requirements your department may have. I am careful to ensure your writing follows the general rules for the basic mechanics of style, i.e., punctuation, spelling, capitalization, italics, and hyphenation. I will send the edited copy to you in time for you to accept/reject the changes I've made and meet your submission deadline. I'm known for providing emotional support and encouragement to doctoral students whose dissertations I edit.

WHAT I DO

I work with high school seniors, college students, graduate students, and university faculty.

  • High School Students: Proofread and edit your Admission Essay to college
  • College Students: Edit your term papers, capstone projects, and admission essays to graduate programs and professional schools
  • Master’s Students: Edit and format your Master’s thesis
  • Doctoral Students: Edit and format your dissertation according to University guidelines
  • Faculty: edit your journal articles

When I edit your document, I do all of the following:

  • Correct errors in punctuation, spelling, capitalization, hyphenation, and subject/verb agreement
  • Make sure every word means exactly what you intend it to mean
  • Check for factual errors
  • Reduce redundant language
  • Clarify phrases/sentences that are unclear
  • Make sure there is a smooth, unbroken flow to the narrative
